What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
In order for us to provide a comprehensive quote to a potential client, ideally we would like to know the date and time of the event, where the event is taking place, the stages of the day to be photographed, e.g. bridal preparations, guest arrival, ceremony, 1st dance etc., estimated length of time we would be required for and a rough idea of budget. Using this and any other additional information we would be able to generate a detailed quote based on the client's requirements. The more information a prospective client is able to provide then the more relevant, specific and tailor made the quote can be.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When considering hiring a photographer, we would advise a client to checkout the photographer's profile page and website in order to find out more about their background and ethos. Take a good look at previous work and judge whether the style of photography and editing is to their liking and ask for clarity on any key points or request additional information e.g. details of what is included in the packages on offer. It is important for a client to have a positive, friendly and relaxed relationship with their photographer, therefore our advice would be to meet for coffee and a chat, (possibly at the venue if convenient), spend some time together and look at examples of their work. From this you will know whether the photographer is the right one for you and if you can visualise them being part of your big day.

Hurst Impressions Photography is a husband and wife team specialising in wedding and event photography. There were many contributing factors that led us to set up our business and we've never looked back. Our passion for photography has given us the opportunity to share and capture amazing and precious moments, meet some truly special people as well as enabling us to spend more time together. What could possibly be more enjoyable than to be part of one of the happiest days in a persons life? We are lucky enough to experience this on a weekly basis and we absolutely love it. Life is all about enjoyment and being with the people you love, our business is a reflection of this.
