What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide an accurate quote we need to know the date of the event, the timings of the event, what the event is for e.g. birthday party, extra accommodation, the number of people that the yurt needs to house, what flooring is required, what ground the yurt will be going up on i.e. concrete, field, hardcore (we need to know for putting pegs into the ground for security), what other suppliers are on site at the time, what access there is to the site i.e. width of any gates, muddy field, carpark - will it take a large van (3.5t or a 7t?)? Is parking a long way from the site? Does the team need to carry a lot of kit to the site from the van, leading to increased time etc.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure you check the provider has public liability insurance. Does the provider know the weather conditions their structures are allowed to be put up in? Does the provider have a clear understanding about fire regulations when it comes to wood burning stove hire for accommodation yurts? These are obscure questions, but vital ones.

Yurts for Life started in 2005, inspired by building temporary structures for people who need emergency accommodation. Since 2014 Yurts for Life has been under new ownership and is providing yurts for people to buy and hire. Yurts for life also offer a maintenance package for client-owned yurts and often help out other yurt makers with their structures.
