What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To be able to provide a suitable quote to the potential client, ideally we require detail of the set up and tear down dates the client anticipates, how many units they require, what furnishings they require such as a package that includes beds, just floor seating or carpet. In addition, we (obviously!) need the venue postcode.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Check what's included in their package and if there are any hidden costs. You and your guests may arrive to a tent with a sumptuous air bed but no linen or lighting whereas you assumed that was included. Cheapest is not necessarily the best. Do some research by looking at websites, Facebook, other social media and reviews left by previous clients. Does their online, telephone and postal communication seem professional? What insurance is provided? Does their equipment look of a good quality and well maintained? There may be a reason they are able to offer such a cheap service! We don't hide costs and are up front about what our prices are, what is included in packages, how much deposit is required, delivery charges and have full terms and conditions printed on booking forms. We offer a professional, personable service with full insurance and well maintained equipment.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Warwickshire Yurt and Bell Tent Hire was born out of a gap in the local market for yurt hire which was apparent at a family members wedding with their yurt coming from miles away and costing almost as much to deliver as it did to hire. One wet and windy trip to Wales later I had purchased my first yurt and the bell tents soon followed. I wanted to create a yurt and bell tent hire business that has customers as its core focus and something for everyone. Whilst the yurt is beautiful, having the option of bell tents gives customers more choice at a more affordable price. The addition of the stunning Lotus Belle Tent has further widen our portfolio.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have had a couple of bookings which have been directly related to Add to Event although I can't say how many more have come to us direct having been quoted by us through Add to Event or have seen us advertising on Add to Event. The first of these direct bookings was a Yurt hire as an extra bedroom for a client who had guests stopping for the weekend. We set up the yurt with a full wooden king size bed for the couple and a double futon for their daughter. Decorated with rugs, lanterns, fairy lights and cushions, it was extremely well received by their visitors. The booking went well and the client was very satisfied.
