Meet John – Your Wedding DJ & Event Host John is a modern, high-energy wedding DJ known for his creative mixes and mashups, and ability to read the crowd. Whether blending genres for a fresh, unexpected twist or dropping seamless quick-mixes at peak moments, he keeps the dancefloor alive and the energy flowing all night long.

Our Story

I got into this through a genuine love of music and people, and bringing everyone together. Growing up in the farming and Young Farmers community, so much of life revolves around social events, parties and shared moments. That’s where I first saw how the right music and atmosphere can completely change the feel of a room.

What started as helping out at local events gradually grew into something more, and over time I realised I wanted to do this properly. Not just as a DJ, but as someone who can help shape the whole experience and make sure everything flows as it should.

Now I specialise in weddings because no two are ever the same. I love getting to know each couple, understanding what matters to them, and creating something that feels natural and personal, not forced or generic.

For me it’s never just about playing songs. It’s about reading the room, guiding the flow of the evening, and helping guests feel relaxed, involved and part of the celebration. Knowing when to lift the energy and when to let moments breathe.

That’s what drives me. Creating weddings that feel right for the couple, and that people genuinely remember long after the music stops.

Our Team

I’m John William, Wedding Host & DJ behind ForCelebrations.

It’s a small, personal business, so you’ll be dealing directly with me from your first enquiry through to your wedding day. I take a hands-on approach to every booking, getting to know each couple and making sure everything feels right for you.

If you’ve met me at a wedding fair, you may also have met my wife Amanda, who is a fantastic support and our first dance choreographer, helping couples feel comfortable and confident on the dancefloor.

I also work closely with a small circle of trusted collaborators, including live musicians and fellow entertainers, so if you’re looking to build something a bit bigger around your day, I can help bring that together seamlessly.

Experience

I’ve been DJing professionally for over 10 years, and for the past four years this has been my full-time focus. During that time, I’ve built up a wealth of experience across weddings and events throughout Devon, Cornwall and the wider South West.

A big part of that journey has been developing my approach as both a DJ and a host, focusing not just on the music, but on how the whole day feels and flows for you and your guests.

In 2025, I was proud to win the South West Wedding Awards in the Recorded Music category, which was especially meaningful as it’s based on feedback and votes from couples I’ve worked with.

More recently, I was awarded Accreditation Plus with Art of Weddings, their highest level of accreditation, recognising both the quality of service and the experience I provide.

My setup is constantly evolving, and I never stop learning or refining my approach, both in how I work with people and how I perform, so every wedding feels natural, personal and genuinely memorable.

I primarily provide wedding DJ & hosting services for couples across Devon, Cornwall and the South West.

My clients are typically looking for a more personal, well-managed experience — not just music, but someone to help guide the flow of the evening and create a packed, inclusive dancefloor.

I regularly work at barn, country house and marquee weddings, including more DIY venues where a strong host can make a real difference.
