Groovy Funky Things

Groovy funky things is a 5 piece event/function/party band that specialises in performing funk, soul, and disco classics. Our repertoire of timeless danceable classics has universal appeal. Even those who prefer to sit it out at the back of the room will enjoy listening from their tables. Our shows include hits by legendary artists like Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Whitney Huston, Chic, Sister Sledge, Earth Wind & Fire, and Chaka Khan. While our repertoire focuses mainly on dance floor classics from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, we also play a number of more recent dance focussed hits, from artists including Bruno Mars, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Maroon 5, and Justin Timberlake.

We normally perform for up to two hours, divided into two or three sets, though we are happy to work flexibly around the requirements of your event. We are also happy to provide recorded music before and after each set to ensure that your party keeps grooving, even when we take a break.

Groovy Funky Things comprises 5 highly talented and well trained musicians who, collectively, have literally thousands of gigs under their belts. We carry a PA system and lighting, suitable for indoor events with up to around 200 guests, or rooms 300 square metres/3200 square feet in size. This means we are self-sufficient in most UK hotel, wedding, and conference venues. However, if needed, equipment suitable for larger venues can easily be arranged via third-party hire. Groovy Funky Things operates throughout the Midlands and surrounding regions.
