About Moor Farm Shop
We are a farming family that has been farming in Baschurch since World War I. In 1919 our Great Grandfather, Cecil Haynes Timmis, bought the mixed farm he had rented during the War. Also in Shropshire in 1919 the Everall family began to breed Hereford cattle. Our two farming families came together in 1981 with the marriage of our parents, Mike Timmis and Hazel Everall. An unusual wedding gift of 9 Hereford cattle was the start of a business!
Melissa and I came home and wanted to keep farming, so looked for a way to make that happen! In 2002 this began with a meat box scheme to friends and family, using meat from our own Hereford cattle and Gloucester Old Spot pigs. In 2006 this became a farm shop based in the garage adjacent to our house. Then in 2011, we made the step to build a brand new farm shop at Moor Farm. It was a good decision that has enabled us to expand what we do and see more customers on a daily basis. It was not just more shop space that we needed but room to hang and prepare meat and space for a kitchen to cook our own food for the shop. Due to the great response, we have had from our regular customers in Shropshire, we felt that we would like to expand beyond the county boundaries, through the online Moor Farm Shop. We hope that you will agree that this is the right decision...
