Pompones

Pompones offers something a little different. Parties are entirely bespoke, tailored to your needs and an alternative to the traditional, one-size-fits-all, package. Sara will work with you and your child to create a unique experience around your chosen theme. After an initial conversation, Sara will come back to you with a party plan, including the product the children will be designing and a budget. Pompones offers a full service, from the initial ideas stage, to sourcing the materials, to providing the entertainment on the day at the venue of your choice. As the party host, you can be involved as much or as little as you like.

Sara is happy to consider any theme of your choice, and the particular product to be designed will be decided on in advance.  It could be a bag, a t-shirt, a cap or a badge that could be used again and again, on multiple occasions. Before the children get immersed in the activity, Sara will guide them and help them to plan and think about the design before they unleash their inner creativity! Pompones will have examples on the day to show the children how it might look and to inspire their own creations.

Each child is given a personalised range of materials (embellishments, their initials in fabric cuts, ribbons, pompoms, textile paints, etc.) inside their individually named paper bag. Like any designer, children will have chance to think about and lay out their creation beforehand. They can improvise along the way, putting to use the extra materials, textile paints and other bits that will be provided. We will help them to glue and attach any tricky parts and guide them through as they put the finishing touches to their creations.

The activity should last somewhere between 1.5 hours and 2 hours and the recommended age is 5+. The size of the group will depend on the children’s ages and the space available, but with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 15. Numbers should be agreed well in advance.
