About Slice Twenty Six
We are Slice Twenty Six! My partner and I have been in the hospitality business for the last 38 years combined. We fell in love with pizza when we visited Italy in 2016. We visited Rome, Naples and Sorrento. The variation of pizzas we tried really inspiring, from classic neapolitan to romana dough. I made our first pizza oven in our garden out of fire bricks 2 paving slabs and a pizza stone. It was a disaster! We continued to try pizzas where ever we travelled to see how close others could get to proper italian pizzas.
In March 2019 we bought our first portable pizza oven. We started to make our own dough by hand and tested our pizzas out on our friends. We realized this journey was going to be much harder than we originally thought. We carried on researching, learning and testing for the next 2 years. We are now on our 3rd pizza oven and have an Italian spiral dough mixer.
Last year we committed to doing 1 event at our local farm shop, they were having a beer festival which they wanted more food options for their guests other than what they usually do. It was a success! We learn't so much from one event. The feedback we received was amazing. There's no better feeling. We have recently found a local supplier which can supply us with the best ingredients imported from Italy.
We can't wait to continue our journey and be involved in as many events as possible in the future. We are happy to cater for any event or occasion. We can also cater for other cuisines, please just ask and we see what we can do.
