The Smoking Beetle family lives deep in the Sussex countryside. Our favourite thing is grilling and baking using only charcoal on our unique VW Beetle barbecues and locally copiced wood in out pizza ovens. We are nuts about good food. We also love mama nature so we make sure all that we do is kind to her too.
We serve excellent, natural food for weddings, birthdays, corporate events, private festivals, music festivals, food festivals and parties of all kinds. We can manage the bar and any other services you might need including experienced waiting staff.

Delicious food displayed very well
Nick and his team were absolute superstars on our wedding day, despite being the hottest day of the year. He is a true professional and cares about the food and overall enjoyment of your day. We came to him with some unique requests as my wife is Latvian, and he managed them very well with new ideas to support all dietry requirements. Ran out of food before everyone was fed!
We had a BBQ for 90 guests. Only 40 burgers were bought to the event, all food ran out before all guests were fed. Looks the part with the beetle, but terrible calculations on how much food to bring.

Nick and his team did a fantastic job with their BBQ for my wife's 50th birthday! The food was amazing and our guests spoke highly of it! Would certainly use them again!!
Delicious food and great service with a smile.
The food was fresh and cooked superbly. The menu (it was a BBQ) was really interesting and varied - great salads, meat dishes etc. The food was delightfully fresh, cooked superbly - just delicious. Feedback from guests was overwhelmingly positive. (The only suggestion from one of the vegetarians was for something with a bit more substance - perhaps just by adding to the salads). Nick and the team were wonderfully friendly, co-operative and 'just got on with it'. For someone who is not an events organiser (and we have around 110 guests), they were a godsend!
Highly recommend
Nick and his team provided a barbecue for my daughter’s 18th birthday party. He catered for 70 guests on barbecues in our garden (we couldn’t fit the Beetle in unfortunately). The food was delicious and plentiful, served efficiently and with good humour. I would highly recommend Smoking Beetle.
