About Taqueria La Gringa
Our goal is to bring authentically prepared tacos to East Anglia by leaning on a trifecta of Mexican tradition, American fusion, and the best of British farming. Taquería La Gringa's team is passionate about creating quality meals with quality ingredients, and we want to honour both traditional Mexican recipes and our region's agricultural roots. It's a priority for us to support local food producers first when sourcing our ingredients. We also want to ensure we're giving back as members of the East Anglian food economy.
Our menu is wide-ranging and diverse. We provide a nice variety of slow-cooked, 'comfort food' style taco fillings that stick to your ribs. For those that prefer meatless alternatives, we also offer thoughtfully prepared vegan and vegetarian options that receive high praise from our plant-based customers. We are also happy to share that none of our recipes utilise any gluten-containing ingredients! We are proud to handcraft our own naturally gluten-free corn tortillas for all of our tacos for a deliciously authentic experience that can be enjoyed by all.
TLG was born when Amanda, our executive chef, moved to Suffolk from the US and acutely felt the absence of the abundant Mexican food options that she was used to in her previous home. Having worked in taquerias and Tex-Mex establishments under the tutelage of Mexican chefs, she decided it was finally time to pursue her dream of starting her own food business--something she had dreamed of since her teen years. She, her husband Ed, and her son (a second-generation taquero on both sides of his family tree!) now get to explore the East Anglian countryside, taco trailer in tow, as they bring their passion for real deal tacos to pubs and events throughout their new home.
