The Hungry Plaice is an award winning business and has been voted as a UK Finalist Mobile Operator at The National Fish & Chip Awards for 2024.
We have two totally Unique Super Cool Retro Vintage 1980's Mark 2 Ford Transit Vans that no-one else on the planet has and our van Betty was a Fish & Chip Van that operated back in the 1980s/1990s making her one of the oldest Fish & Chip Vans still on the road.
From our Old Fashioned Fish and Chip Vans we serve PROPER Fish and Chips like you would expect from your local Chip Shop, our Fish is Hand Battered just before frying, we do not use Pre-Battered Frozen Fish like some of our Competitors so whilst you will be paying a bit more we provide you with a top quality service from Vans that you won't see anywhere else.
The Hungry Plaice will ensure that you can enjoy a professional, hassle free friendly catering service for your event no matter how many people are there.
We can also provide a Vintage Ice Cream Van which is environmentally friendly as this has a machine powered by electric helping to make your event more sustainable.
From our Vintage Ice Cream Van we can serve Whippy and Scoop Ice Cream Cornets and Trays, Lollies and Desserts such as Waffles, Crepes, Bubble Waffles, Waffle Pops, Mini Doughnuts, Ice Cream Sundaes, Popcorn and Candy Floss as well as a Sweet Cart and Machine Hires for Hot Dogs and Nachos.
We hold a level 5 Food Hygiene Rating and are proud to be NCASS members with £10m full Public and Product Insurances, Level 2 Food Safety Training, Risk Assessments covering Food Safety/H&S and Fire, and Vehicle Gas Certificates.
