What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For a comprehensive quote, I need to know most importantly a Date and Venue. Type of function/event it is? Wedding? 21st Birthday? Christmas Party? etc. How many guests are you expecting? What time do you want the Disco to start and finish? I can give you an accurate quote with these details.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I think the best way to hire somebody is to look up their reviews firstly. Reliability is extremely important too, quite often the cheapest DJs get booked up quickly! And then once the date comes along they've taken on a different gig that offers more money. This, in turn, can give DJs a bad name.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

From when I was 6 years old my Mum bought me a record player and a box full of vinyl 45s and LP records. From then on I've loved music, playing and mixing them together. It was a natural choice as a career for me, I find it so rewarding and sometimes can't believe I'm getting paid to do something I really enjoy.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event has been fantastic for my business and I've had lots of work through it. Last Christmas I was booked to do a Private Party with some Karaoke, it turned out to be the owner of the Timpson chain and he was giving some of his staff, family and friends a good time. What a nice man he was too, looking forward to doing the same again this year.
