Able to provide high quality food in large quantities within short windows of time, Great Tastes can get their mobile catering service into almost anywhere - having even served in the middle of the woods before. The burgers come from a range of animals from the traditional cow to more exotic choices such as kangaroo, alpaca, and buffalo. Cakes, ice creams and desserts can also be added to bespoke menus, in addition to cold drinks and other refreshments.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide a realistic quote it is necessary to know the date of the event, the type of event, the numbers of guests and an age range. We also like to know whether guests are to have just one serving or are to be allowed as much food as they like. This is particularly important when there are large numbers of guests and there is a limited budget. As we cook outside (BBQ style) we like to ensure that the venue is accessible for our equipment. We are flexible in our approach to a venue and can usually fit in wherever the host wishes.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would want to know the provenance of the food and whether it is purchased fresh or frozen. It is important to know how quickly your guests can be served, especially if there are large numbers attending your event. Timing can be very important for the success of a party or event.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Our business has slowly evolved from being a butchery business selling exotic meats to the catering business it is today. We started just by attending shows to promote our business and selling gourmet burgers to the public. The number of shows we attended slowly increased and we started to be asked by friends and family to cater for parties for them. We now attend shows and fairs but are also catering for parties and weddings, Our food is simple but great. People love it. We also ensure that our staff are excellent and friendly because people always love a smile!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event has been good for us. We catered for a wonderful party in a wood. It took some organising as accessibility was difficult and it rained, but the party was a great success and the guests loved our food and were amazed that they had a three course BBQ meal in a wood! Another event which was very successful was serving 150 teenagers food within in 45 minutes. We served a choice of three burgers with salads. The kids loved it, as did the teachers. I have recommended Add to Event to a variety of catering friends and those involved in the party entertainment scene.
