What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a full, comprehensive quote and to give you all of our available options, we need the event date, the number of guests, the type of food you'd like and ideally the type of event. We like as much information as possible since many of our packages are completely bespoke and tailored to suit your needs.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I think that many people underestimate the cost of catering, in particular things such as canapés. The reason canapés are so expensive is that they're incredibly time-consuming to prepare, and the ingredients tend to be fairly expensive. Costs might also seem expensive to the customer, but they don't see the hours of work that go into preparing all the food before arriving at the event. Whilst we may only be at an event for two or three hours, we probably spent 6 or 7 (or more!) hours preparing the food beforehand, so that everything runs smoothly on arrival.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

We started our own business after returning home from living abroad for a while and decided we wanted to do something we'd both love. My partner James had been a chef for more than 10 years and I have great people and organisational skills (not to mention a meticulous eye for detail!) so we thought, hey why not wedding catering? We love being involved in peoples' happiest days, and truly believe that we are a huge asset to any event. We are passionate about what we do - it's easy to do a great job of something when you love what you're doing!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We had an amazing time at Castlecraig Hospital's 50th anniversary reunion. It was fantastic to be such a big part of a brilliant celebration. It was the biggest event we'd ever done, but our team did us proud, and every single person was raving about our delicious hog roast. We quickly and efficiently fed 350+ people both main course and dessert, and many even came back for seconds! We were on such a high by the end of it, because it couldn't have gone any better. I couldn't have been more proud of our team, and it was a point in our business where I knew our hard work, devotion and passion had really shone through. It puts a smile on my face just remembering it and writing this text! I often recommend Add to Event to potential customers of ours, if we are unavailable on their chosen date.
