What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
It's important for us to receive as much information as possible prior to us providing a quote. To make sure the date is available is the most important thing so we don't offer our services and are then unavailable for the client. Type of cuisine is preferred in advance for us to be sure we can provide something to suit the client's tastes & requirements. It's also good for us to know how many guests are expected to attend. We are capable of providing up to 150 guests as a buffet or table sharers.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Before confirming a booking it's important to know that your supplier is reliable and of course capable of providing a quality service. I would recommend making a phone call to speak to the supplier directly to ask any questions you have and to make sure they know their product well. If a provider cannot answer your questions in confidence I would recommend looking elsewhere. If you are enquiring for wedding catering I would suggest meeting suppliers in person prior to confirming your booking and to schedule a tasting as you need to make sure the supplier is going to fulfil your requirements.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Pop Catering was born in 2017. Nick & Juliette's passion for food and quality service pushed them to begin pop up restaurant events in Brighton and the local area. There are lots of places to eat out in Brighton and Nick & Juliette have pretty much done the lot. They found that there is a solid inconsistency within restaurants in Brighton, you either get great tasting food served by a grumpy waiter/waitress or a plate of food you wouldn't feed your dog but served by a happy friendly member of staff which makes all the difference. With this in mind, they decided to start offering their food in local restaurants and cafes providing the front of house and kitchen staff. Two years later they expanded the business and now feed over 1500 hungry guests per year, served with professionalism and smiles all round ensuring your guests are satisfied 100% of the time.
With customer satisfaction being our main focus, understanding the importance of professional, friendly service and being able to provide delicious food presented beautifully with consistency from one event to the next. These are just a few examples of what is important to us at Pop Catering.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We only signed up to Add to Event during the summer of 2019. We are very impressed by the amount of enquiries that come through on a daily basis. We have now taken thirteen bookings here and having happy customers is pushing us to provide more quotes and take on more clients via Add to Event
We've enjoyed every one of our events, it's not just our job but our livelihood. We enjoy it. To choose one event that stands out for us would be the Afternoon Tea we provided for Ruth and her family in their home. It was a small event but we met lots of lovely people and have since taken a further booking from a guest that attended the event. We provided them with an intimate 5-course meal for a murder mystery event. We are now discussing a 3rd event.
We have already recommended other companies to use Add to Event, it really is a great platform. We will continue to recommend it to all companies within the catering & hospitality industries. You're providing a fantastic service, we really appreciate it.
