What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to supply a comprehensive quote to a customer, we would need the event date, the time and location of the event, the style of catering required for example buffet, sit down meal, Barbeque etc, the approximate number of guests and if any additional services are required ie bar staff, equipment hire.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
You need to ask yourself what is really important for your event to be a success, great quality food, style and presentation, meeting your budget. You might want to wow your guests or you might just want something basic to keep your guests happy and being open with your caterer about what your after is the best way for them to give you what you need. Catering isn't always about the bottom line. You might get a better price from a poor quality caterer but if you asked a high-quality caterer for budget options or where you can save money you will ultimately end up with superior service, food and experience.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
AB catering was born out of a passion for great tasting food after 15 years working for large hospitality companies I decided to create a company that would work personally with customers to provide them with the great tasting meals that they wanted regardless of the event size style and budget there is great food can always be served.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We Recently hosted a Thai themed wedding for 170 for the Wonderful Hammonds. Laura phoned me two days after the wedding from a hotel in Thailand to thank me again for the food before her and her new husband went for a jungle trip and wouldn't have any Wifi for the week. I find one of the best things about Add to Event for us is that we can use it to fill in our diary around our existing regular clients so that our diary is full all year round.
