What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, event time, location (full address and postcode preferable), whether there's a particular dance style they have in mind or a theme, a brief explanation of what they would like our dancers to do and a rough budget if they have one. From this, we can provide entertainment options to suit the client's needs and budget.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask the provider what entertainment options they would suggest given your requirements - you want someone who is able to adapt their offering to your needs. Ask how long the dancers would stay on site - you want enough time so that performances can slot into your event timetable. Also find out if there are any particular requirements for the performance (as sometimes you may need to check if something is possible with the venue, eg use of fire props).
You could also ask about previous clients and whether the dance group has had experience at events like yours, as this will ensure you are getting dance entertainment from experienced professionals.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Star Dancers UK started out because I believed we could do better both for clients and for the dancers we worked with. My background is as a professionally trained dancer with experience as a dancer in the events industry.
I wanted clients to get a professional experience from start to finish - a comprehensive quote that considered their requirements and preferences, where every detail is discussed prior to the event so they can just relax and enjoy our dance entertainment on the day, performances which are an authentic representation of that dance style and culture, and dancers who conducted themselves in a professional manner at events. Equally I also wanted our dancers to be treated with respect - so they would always receive clear communication from us regarding a client's expectations, and they have a good experience at events.
I also wanted to bring something unique to the industry - we work with so many multi-talented dancers, who are capable of learning and performing many different dance styles, so it made sense to bring this flexibility to our clients.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We are pretty new to Add To Event so we have not yet experienced a booking through this platform - however we have received many enquiries and are in the middle of some follow-up conversations with some potential clients so I am certain we will secure a booking soon. It's a great platform, really easy to use, and I think it certainly helps potential clients connect with a lot of potential entertainers in one place.
