What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For me to provide a full and comprehensive quotation, I need the date and timings of the event. The location and timings as well as the number of guests expected. Also, an explanation of the type of event as this can have an impact as well. This is the basic information, if there is something that flags up an Issue I will contact yourself / venue for clarification.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask for examples of similar gigs to the one you have in mind. Have they got videos and mixes you can listen to? Also, ask for references from clients again from similar gigs to the style and genre you are looking for.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I started because of my love of music and also an earlier background in running a bar and restaurant. My wanting to always have a party is also part of the reason and this job gives that feeling of fun, although there is a serious side to it and I ensure to the best of my ability clients get what they want. My focus is on giving a fun night to remember.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I have had lots of bookings from Add to Event from playing in Blenheim Palace to the docks at Bristol. The most memorable was a big wedding in Kent with over 400 people just after Lockdown. People had not been out for a couple of years and really wanted to party. It was so much fun!
