What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

An event date is really helpful for checking availability and to see if we can offer any extra discounts. We also like to know a little bit about what type of day is planned. This is super important for schools to make sure we are offering the right activities to meet any aims or objectives for the day. Lastly, we like to know how many people might be involved and where the event will be so we can check it's in an area we cover.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Find out a little bit about what is on offer. Little things can make a big difference. For example, if you are looking at booking an activity for a school, find out how much equipment is provided. Is there enough for everybody to have their own? If you are organising an event, will queueing systems and pop-up tents be provided? Most of all, choose a supplier you get along with and that understands what you are looking to achieve. It will make a difference in how they approach the day.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Back in 2014, I was offered the chance to buy part of the business I worked for. I got all of the money I could together from family, and a government-backed start-up loan to help me get started. With just a couple of years of industry experience under my belt running a mobile activity business was and still is a big adventure. I'm proud to say that both myself and the business has grown over that time. My sister is now involved in the business and we're still learning and improving as we go.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We've had a few, mostly climbing wall, bookings through Add to Event. It allows us to connect with potential clients that might not otherwise find us. Taking our climbing wall to a Christmas market last year was a real highlight. We couldn't have wished for a nicer customer to work for. Add to Event is a great way to find new customers - somebody told me about the platform and I continue to do the same.
