C.A.M. Entertainments provide a variety of services and items for your event such as a disco, DJ, photobooth, sweet cart plus 4 ft Illuminated L.O.V.E. letters. What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us the provide a comprehensive quote to a customer I would ideally need to know the following. What the event is e.g. wedding, birthday, where the event is e.g. ground floor, indoor/ outdoor, how many people are invited or attending, what is their budget and what are they requiring.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask what they are offering and where they are based. Find out if their equipment is up-to-date, has been tested and if they have the relevant documentation e.g. Public Liability.
Try to give them as many details about your event as possible so that they can give you their best quote.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I started as a DJ when I was 19 when I was working in a hotel and the DJ that was set up at lunchtime didn't turn up in the evening. He called and said all was set up and someone could just play the music. I relished the chance to give it a try and it was a very good evening. Everyone said I was a natural. I've been wanting to be a DJ since I was very young. Listening to a vast array of music due to my dad's large vinyl and tape collection. I was recording my voice on my eight track (showing my age now) and playing it in the background of the music.
I'd been DJing for over 15 years when photobooths started to be popular so I thought it was the next step. Brought my first photobooth which was a massive learning curve but now I'm excellent at doing professional looking designs and running the booth with a smile. From there I brought 4ft Illuminated Love Letters because I saw them at an event. But I wanted to offer them as an add on the customer's package. Next I made a sweetcart which included lights and had 12 large Sweet jars filled up to the top twice for the event.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I've had quite a few bookings from Add to Event after trying various services. Some of the other lead services won't even let the customer give you their email address. But Add to Event is very open to the sharing of contact information, They don't charge the world for leads whereas one other lead provider wanted £20 just to quote for a corporate event.
I had the one booking for a charity event through this platform The customer wanted a lot of information from me which we were able to pass on using the Add to Event message system. This was very useful after the event to find out where they wanted me to send their usb drive with copy of all photos taken in the photo booth.
The event was an amazing night. I provided a disco and photobooth. The dancefloor was packed all night and the booth was extremely busy too. There were over 200 people attending the night and everyone went home very happy.
Add to Event tells you if you have an upcoming event which is very useful. When my website was live before the lockdown I actively promoted them but unfortunately, I took the site down due to covid. In my opinion Add to Event is the only competitive lead provider for professionals that doesn't charge the world and wants the provider to get the jobs.
