What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

I tailor my service to your individual event. To provide you with a transparent quote I need to know how you envisage your event to look and feel and how much involvement and support you would like from me and we can build it from there on. It's so easy to feel overwhelmed with all the options out there but I can sit with you and devise a theme that feels right for you. I then use my vast event experience along the way to put forward suggestions and finishing touches that will make your day perfect. Lots of venues will hold your hand along the way but on the day of the event aren't on-site to coordinate, if you need me there I will be there to arrange the family, venue, caterers, suppliers and coordinate timings for appointments too.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

With event planning you need to be clear on what your expectations are and what services are covered by your quote. Pick someone that you can build a rapport with and that won't try and push you into something that is their taste, not yours! Your event should be tailored to you and your budget, not one size fits all. Be open to new ideas but if suggestions are put forward that don't sit right, speak up and let them know. The day is too special not to be how you want it.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Events are my passion in any shape and form. After 15 years in events I couldn't imagine doing anything else. I never switch off and always thinking that would like good at my next event, I wonder where I can incorporate that or that colour scheme works so well for an event, or ooh I might buy those x 40 crystal vases from Ebay just in case......I have a very strong customer service ethic and love seeing the joy a well-planned event brings to clients. My first experience of working for myself was via my floral ice cream caravan Bluebell and that encaptured the strong floral theme that has evolved into Melody Events, flowers and colour make people smile as a good event should.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event is a fantastic platform to get everything you need. My first experience with Add to Event was a caterer and I had a floral caravan, Bluebell that I served ice cream from. We had many events booked from Add to Event as it was a way to get our name out there. Our favourite was a big top themed wedding where the bride and groom had a huge big top, a fairground, a dog show, mobile caterers.....it was truly amazing. The feedback and review we had from the bride was the icing on the cake. Now I have evolved the company to Melody Events I will continue to use this amazing platform and my next great review is just around the corner
