What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, we would need to know the event date, time, the number of children at the event, a brief explanation of the type of event they are hosting, and whether it is indoors or outdoors. From this, we can happily give the correct price for your event.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly, ask the provider about the product they are offering. I wouldn't let an uninsured face painter, who uses cheap and unsuitable face painting/glitter on my children. Children's skin is sensitive and professional face painters, will know this and use the correct procedures before painting a child. It is all very well getting a cheap quote, but cheap isn't always good...and good isn't always cheap :)

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Face Painting by Julie was born out of love for making children smile and keeping events family orientated. I started face painting, as I used to organise Art, Craft and gift fairs, I wanted a face painter who could entertain the children, while the parents had a mooch around the stalls. This I found difficult, as all the good face painters were booked up months in advance. So I did three face painting courses and ta-dah! I have done many other courses along the way and love every minute of my job. I only use the highest quality face paints and glitters, and still have a great passion for what I do.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have been with Add to Event since last October and have had many wonderful face painting jobs come through.
I am not the cheapest face painter around, but I have many a happy client, whose children have loved their magical faces.
