What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

The date, number of guests, and location are my priority. Each of these allows me to create a basic estimate that I know I can offer. If I don't know a date, then I can create an estimate but may have to turn down the customer once the date is received and we are booked. I feel customers want to hide weddings as they think the price will go up, this means they usually hide information that is pretty useful for us.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Be honest about what you want, we can only say no. We like it when customers want to have something crazy and outgoing, and this doesn't always have to be expensive. If you like an idea from Pintrest then go for it!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

My father, Tim McConnell, started ASM in 1998. At first it was for the love of working outdoors, but it quickly became a love for events. You get hooked on seeing someone step into their marquee for the first time!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We would definitely recommend Add to Event and already have to many people. Most recently, a young lad who has started making and hiring out superb pallet furniture in Wimborne, Dorset. Add to Event is our main source of bookings, alongside our website and offers a clear understanding of what the customer needs. The most useful part is where phone numbers and email addresses are accessible as we need to send over documents.
