Based in Staffordshire, Mexibros are a family run business that has over 30 years of experience. Providing authentic Mexican street food, they cater for food festivals, music festivals, birthday parties, weddings, engagement parties and more.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a quote, we need to know the date and location of the event. It would also be helpful to know the number of guests, dietary requirements if any and what they are willing to spend.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would firstly advise to ask for the caterers website address and to check them out on social media. Look at the reviews - how does the site look? Is it professional or is it basic? You can gage how serious the business is by branding and how their website looks. Make sure you ask about the food, getting detailed information on how it will be served.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
After being a general chef for over 10 years, and working my way to head chef, I felt the next step was to start my own business. With a love for Mexican food and a passion for street food, I decided to combine the two. Knowing that I couldn't do this alone, I asked my younger autistic brother to join me in the adventure and then Mexibros was formed. Not only am I running my own business, but I'm also helping my brother learn life and business skills and feel part of something.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
It has to be the booking I did at a stately home in Ludlow for a 21st birthday party where I fed 120 people. The setup and scenery were amazing, situated in a field in front of the house, with a massive big tipi with a DJ booth, fireworks and fire performers. This has got to be one of the best private parties we have catered for. The guests were all polite and the feedback was fantastic. We kept the guests fed and partying until the early hours of the morning.
