Based in Devon, Libation Bars offers professional bars for all occasions, from weddings and corporate events to large festivals, country shows and sporting events. They cater for the whole of the south-west and have many years of experience in the trade.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
Every event is different. We are very flexible. But we need to know the following; where is the event? Is there good access? How many guests will be attending? Is it a cash bar? Give us as much info as you can.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask a bar provider to supply you with names of previous customers. They should be very happy to do this. Recommendations are the best guide to getting a good bar company. Ask for their website address and social media accounts. This should provide up to date info on what the company can offer. Speak to them on the phone. Arrange a meeting.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I have worked for years in the brewery business. I left Otter Brewery a few years back to start an online beer and cider business. Libation Bars started due to people asking me to do craft beer events. I have now been running Libation for three years. We don't advertise, but are booked up every weekend from May to September. All word of mouth. We have never been so busy.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Among other bookings this year, we were booked by Hospicecare to do a bar for over 1500 people on Exmouth sea front. We ran a fully stocked bar, mainly serving prosecco. It was a great event run by a well supported local charity. A percentage of our taking were given to Hospicecare. Hospicecare have given us a 5-star review, which is great. We can run a bar for any type of event, large or small.
