What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
As a supplier that offers a wide range of services, Events By Helen need as much detail as possible. Prices can vary depending on even the smallest details, especially when it comes to event staffing. Ideally we need to know as much as possible about the proposed start and end times, guests numbers, the services you require, the venue, (including access), the nature of the event - but most importantly, exactly how we can help you. Once we have a full understanding, we can then create a bespoke quotation, taking care of mobile bars, event staffing, tableware & furniture hire, event co-ordination and much more.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Our advice would be: Start a conversation with suppliers upon receiving a quotation.
Suppliers often have skills in multiple disciplines, so give them a chance to show you what they can do. If that supplier is 'The One,' they will explain what they offer which should reassure you. This could be spread over multiple emails, if you wish! We are a friendly, approachable bunch at Events By Helen - and our clients love that we offer a unique, fully inclusive package, (rather than just one individual service), meaning one supplier can provide numerous services - meaning you save money by avoiding having to pay individual suppliers. By stating exactly what you are looking for, we can explain how we can help - and if we can't, we have the contacts and experience to find a reliable, cost effective supplier that can.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Events By Helen was started after years of working in various areas of the industry, (including working for caterers, venues, suppliers and as an event co-ordinator) but we soon realised there was a gap in the market. We found that no-one provided an all-inclusive service that covered all aspects of planning and running an event. After being asked if we can supply various services for our clients, we set up a business that can cope with supplying anything from experienced staff to mobile bars, tableware and even the venues themselves. By covering all aspects, we take ownership of all services, saving our clients time and money by reducing the numbers of suppliers whilst delivering a start-to-finish service from initial planning to waste management after the event. We work closely with our clients to find out their exact requirements, then exceed their expectations. The point is, we can offer as little or as much help as required, allowing the client to relax & enjoy their event.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Despite only recently joining 'Add to Event', Events By Helen already see it as a major source of potential leads and we work hard to show potential clients that we are the one for them. One example of our personalised service was a recent client looking for vintage crockery hire (for a baby shower) who had almost given up after leaving it late and receiving ridiculously expensive quotes from other sites. After a speculative initial enquiry which turned into a few back-and-forth emails, we agreed to deliver our equipment the day before and collected it the night of the event, which was exactly what the client wanted.
