What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To provide the best service for the value I need to know about the size of the venue and how many people will approximately attend. I would like to know what type of event I am going to serve and what equipment will be needed. Is there any special requirements, with lighting, sounds or safety? Definitely important to know that the event is inside or outside. However is useful to have information about the function room is on the ground floor or somewhere above.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It is useful to question the equipment and music style, possibility of providing playlists to work from. Availability to entertain young children. Check out the entertainer websites. Read reviews online.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I have been DJing since the late '90s and played at festivals and clubs. Now I am performing as a mobile DJ. As I am in the catering sector at my daytime job I am working with lots of venues. Because of that, I meet a lot of people who I see could benefit from such a service that I provide. The name of my business came from my name pronounced wrong so many times, so it's made me use only the first letter. That's how Mr T Entertainment was born.
