What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, we ideally need to know the event date, the type of event they are hosting, the number of guests and whether it is indoor or outdoor. We can then put together a suitable equipment list to accommodate the client's requirements.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would ensure that firstly any events company you are looking to hire has the necessary experience, equipment and the right attitude and enthusiasm, a business that will bring something more to your event than just the services they provide. I would always check that any mobile disco & DJ also has the necessary insurance and pat tested equipment in place to provide a professional service. Any good reliable business will have a website presence and be fully transparent with their pricing.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

JT Events was started by myself and my brother through a shared love of music and playing music to others, we're also equipment geeks and sound quality is one of the things at the heart of what we provide. We've worked in the wedding and events industry in Derby and beyond collectively for over 30 years and we love what we do and we know this shines through when we provide our services to clients.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We provide DJ & Disco services for many parties and wedding events in Derbyshire, but our favourite gigs have to be summer weddings, we just love the happy atmosphere and working the crowd up with what we play. We also MC a little and take requests, which keeps the dance floor full and wedding guests happy!
