What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, a brief explanation of the type of event they are hosting i.e. wedding, party, festival, the estimated number of guests, and a potential venue, whether it's an indoor or outdoor event. If the customer would like toilets, a bar, marquee, security and the amount of power available to the site.
From this, we can use our experience and expertise to put together a suitable equipment list and design.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Begin with asking the provider what they are offering and to what capacity they are able to cater for. Why would you book someone who doesn't know everything about what they are providing? As a small, new business the owners of FTB events have already gained 13 years of experience in the industry between them.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
FTB events were created to help turn the customer's dream event into their reality. I and my business partner found a niché in the market for a mobile events planning company. Coming straight from education, we live in the generation of parties, clubbing and festivals, so know first hand the expectations of people our age and older.
