What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide an informed quote we would ideally require the following:
1. Type of event 2. Date of Event 3. Times of Event 4. Whether Indoor or Outdoor 5.Budget 6. Any other requirements (ie karaoke/photo booth/video disco) instead of having separate quotes.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask the provider about the experience in the type of event they are holding. Make sure the provider has Public Liability Insurance & Portable Appliance Test Certificate. If it's a Children's Party then ask if they have a Enhanced DBS Certificate.
Most prices are very close to each other in this industry, so if you are offered it at half the price then be prepared to get what you pay for.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Way back in the 70s myself and a friend were asked to play music for our employer at his home for his daughters wedding. Back then we only had a home stereo system with a single record deck and a pair of small speakers and a box of 45s. It was traditional back then to make the last record a slow one so people could ask others to dance. We decided to play the new Rod Stewart single "Sailing", it went down a storm and everybody was in tears. We found out afterwards that his daughters wedding was to a sailor in the royal navy and had to go back as he was only released for the wedding. This hit a chord with me that we could make a difference to peoples events and the rest is history as they say.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Not been with 'Add to Event' very long and got my first booking within a couple of days, a Karaoke Disco at the Bexleyheath Gold Club for a charitable cause. The evening went very well and everybody had a great time. This may even lead to more work for me. I am grateful to 'Add to Event' for supplying the lead at a reasonable price and since then have secured my second booking which was a Karaoke Disco at the Newmarket FC sports club last night, 14th September, and that also went very well and may lead to more work.
