What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
In order to provide a comprehensive quote we ideally need to know the type of celebration along with a brief description. The date and length of time our services are required, along with the venue address. It always helps to know whether the room in on the ground floor and/or if there is access to a lift. Finally, we need to know whether it is an indoor or outdoor event. From this, we can then use or experience and expertise to provide an accurate quotation.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The best piece of advice I can offer potential customers is; in regards to DJ's, do not just look at price. You will very easily be able to find a DJ for £100 and sometimes below but what is being offered with this? Find out where they source their music from (youtube is a big no no!), do they have a back up in case something stops working? Is lighting included? How long do they leave for set up? Find out about the equipment they are using and of course, always check reviews! Photo Booths have been available for a few years now so find out how old the booth is, what technology is included, do they charge for extras such as guest books, online gallery, etc. The best advice I can offer is to always ask questions. A reputable supplier will be happy to answer any of your questions!
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Your Memorable Moments was born from the love of music! I have always had a keen interest in music, learning a variety of instruments and I started singing in school productions from a young age. Downloading my first version of PCDJ many years ago I found a hobby that soon became a part time job and now a business. Its a great feeling seeing people up on the dance floor and having a good time. Combining singing with a DJ service meant we were able to cater for events such as weddings to give a live performance as well as having a DJ to pack the dance floor. We then purchased a photo booth to add an extra element to the services we could offer.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We have received lots of bookings through Add to Events and would highly recommend them. Their prices are reasonable compared to other similar services and the details provided by potential customers allows us to provide accurate estimates. Picking one event is difficult but DJing at a charity fundraising event that was also a 50th birthday party was a great night. Throughout the evening there were various events taking part such as, bingo, raffles, fancy dress competitions and announcements relating to specific songs for times in people lives. It was great to be able to be involved in so much and the client was extremely happy with how we ran the night for them and will be using us again in the future. We raised a lot of money for two great causes! I recommend Add to Events to all the other businesses we meet whilst at events!
