What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, a brief explanation of the type of event they are hosting, the estimated number of guests, and a potential venue, whether it's an indoor or outdoor event. From this, we can use our experience and expertise to put together a suitable equipment list and design.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When looking for a DJ or any kind of entertainer please make sure they are what you want or will play the music that you & your guests want to dance to. Also, make that the DJ or entertainer is fully insured PAT tested this will cover you if anything goes wrong electrically at the venue. Also, make sure of reliability, check reviews or past customers to see if what you are hiring for your event is what you are looking for.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I started MES & Mobile Disco’s as a part-time hobby with the hope of doing a couple of bookings here & there a few charity bookings thrown in. It wasn’t until I had to leave my previous employment due to health issues that I decided to go full time & since then I have never looked back, travelling all over the UK doing what I love to do & that’s entertaining & making special days happen.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I guess the one that springs to mind was the wedding of Mr & Mrs Cunningham. From start to end it was floor to floor dancing. Requests coming in from all angles. And to be honest it was my 2nd biggest gig to date with over 200 people. The reviews were amazing, they could not understand how we pulled off such a menu with the rain coming in at intervals. The client and her guests were very happy and are using us again for their next event.
