What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Professionals will automatically have all legal aspects covered - ask for copies of PAT test and public liability insurance. Also, look for someone who has a reputation to protect - reviews should be consistently very high showing a willingness to please clients and be client-focused.
Ask about equipment - the better the sound and lighting the more professional the performer - this includes microphones.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I always wanted to sing professionally and after taking time out for the last 18 months of my dad's time on earth was left deciding what to do. I bought a second-hand PA and new Shure mic and set out.
It took 2 years to become self-reliant. I got involved with karaoke and DJing and built AAA Entertainments with a group of 6 DJs, 4 of whom used my equipment and gained an enviable reputation for professionalism.
Now I sing and DJ independently or combined and carry well over a hundred reviews with an average of 4.9 out of 5.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Add to Event is a recent addition to our quote system. there are lots of great gigs but the one that sticks in mind was in central Manchester on a Wednesday night, a corporate event for a large insurance company.
Once set up the audience were having a dinner and awards ceremony - an hour or so later they came through to me - I took a number of requests and found a common link we had 2 hours left and a solid dancefloor
The reason it sticks in my mind was the queue in front of me at the end of the night to shake my hand before they left - almost everybody - followed by another 5-star review, It was our first-ever corporate event and we smashed it!
