Crocus Paella

Crocus Sativus, commonly known as saffron is the ingredient that makes the paellas that Crocus Paella serve super extra special! They are based in Brighton but also cover all Sussex and London. They serve up some great advice too for when hiring a caterer.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

The more information provided the better really. Most important would be the number of guests we would be catering for, the location of the event and time that we shall be serving. Of course information such as what type of event it is, if there are any dietary requirements, and the location where we shall be cooking from, are also very important and relevant.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

A customer needs to do their due diligence before closing a provider. First steps would be to view their website, make sure it is professional and the provider offers the services requested. Other than that, visit their social media pages, see what people think about the provider and read through reviews on their website, facebook, google etc. A telephone conversation is also a good idea as you can understand a lot through a conversation. Lastly try the food if at all possible, that will for sure give a customer peace of mind that the food is of good quality and the provider can be trusted.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Our business started 6 years ago. I learnt about paella and Spanish cuisine through my wife and in-laws who come from Alicante Spain. We all have a great passion for good honest food and paella is one of our favourite dishes! We started the business just the 2 of us and now have 3 of our best friends involved who share the values and passion for good food.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

All bookings that have come from Add to Event have been a great success, I honestly could not pick a specific one. Communication with all clients was perfect and all the information provided beforehand in the initial request stage, helped us get a good understanding of the event. We've had 5-star reviews from all our bookings and we would also return the 5-star reviews to all our customers as they are fantastic! I would highly recommend the platform to other caterers as well, as I know they would receive great value from it.
