What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide an accurate quotation, we need the date, nature of the event, location and number of guests to expect. We work to an agreed budget in order to make the occasion a success for the organiser and financially viable for us as a business.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would always ask for a personal recommendation where it's available. It’s helpful if you can see or try what food is going to be provided. Whenever we are attending a public event, I always suggest that potential clients come and see us in action - much better to actually be able to literally have a little taste of what you fancy!
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Pescadora’s was created in 2012 when I was being displaced from a large organisation. Friends and family have always enjoyed my informal style of serving and sharing food, so it was a natural progression to extend that into a small business. Here we are several years on and despite only really being a part time caterer, getting very positive feedback from clients old and new.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We have had lots of enquiries from Add to Event. The most recent was yesterday. A small local festival has been let down by a caterer and they were stuck for help. Whilst I might not be able to rustle up the full team at short notice, I can certainly take a large Paella Pan or two and easily feed 50 - 100 people in one sitting! I would certainly suggest using Add to Event as a platform to find new business.
