What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

The information we need would be the date & time of your event and what event is it for (eg a wedding, birthday etc), what type of catering service are you interested in providing for your guests, how many guests will be attending and whether your venue has a kitchen facility or not. A rough price per head that you are looking at spending also helps.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

We would say check out the provider's reviews, either on this site or other social media networks - active businesses will always have a constant stream of social media interaction as well as new reviews. Check out their qualifications! How long have they been in business? Do your research and if you contact them, punctuality of response is key.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Lily Betts Catering is a family run business with 2 generations of my family working alongside me. It was born out of a passion for food and a long standing career in the catering industry. I love to see through an event, from the first contact by the client, planning and then to the day itself and it gives me great pleasure in seeing people enjoying themselves over food with their friends, family and loved ones

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have had lots of bookings over the last year through Add to Event. One that stands out would be vintage wedding for a young couple who wanted afternoon tea. We set up the tables with pretty vintage china and the venue looked fabulous. Everyone commented on how lovely the food & service were. We were honoured to help make their special day a truly memorable one.
