What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, we would need to know a few important details about your upcoming event. We would need to know how many headphones you would require, as pricing is based on a "per headphone" rate (the more hired, the less 'per headphone' price). We would also need to know if it's just a one day event, or if you are looking to have it spread over several days. Lastly, and most obviously, we would need to know the date that you would like to hire headphones - so we can check availability.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly, I would ask what kind of headphones the company provides. Do they offer a two channel system or three channel system. Does their equipment have flashing LED lights. I would also ask how many headphones they have in stock in total. Are they able to handle lots of bookings - be assured that you aren't going to be let down at least minute. We have thousands of headphones available, and are able to cater for around 10 - 15 events per weekend. Some companies are only able to handle one or two, and we often get last minute requests for headphones due to being let down.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
We started the business over 12 years ago. We had heard of the silent disco concept at large festivals, such as Glastonbury, but weren't aware of any companies supplying headphones for smaller scale events. We were the first silent disco company to provide a purely "dry hire" rental system, where the headphones are shipped by courier to a venue - used - then sent back to us. No DJ's, no crew - all done through a very simple courier service, meaning that our costs can be more competitive. We have been in the business now for a long time, and have gained a lot of experience and understand exactly how this business - and concept - works.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
To be honest, I was sceptical of the Add to Event system at first. However, it has opened up our services to a much wider audience - and we have had many bookings through the system, all of which have had a fantastic experience. I would definitely recommend Add to Event to other service providers that may wish to increase their customer base.
