What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To give a comprehensive quote I would need the type of event i.e. Party, Corporate etc. The location to work out travel expenses. Type of venue to make sure that my needs for my equipment is accessible. And the length of entertainment required.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Well first off, make sure that my genre of music is relevant to the event they are organising. I don't think a classical piece would go down well at a Rock and Roll event. On saying that, it has been done! Make sure the venue has a licence to have live music. Not always something that the organiser checks on. Make sure that there is safe access for me to take my equipment in. No good if up 3 flights of stairs!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I started singing at a very young age so there was no doubt that I would sing as a career. I also love engaging with people, it's so nice to see people smile whilst I'm singing. Singing at events is a great way to get myself heard and gain more public support. It's also a great way to network. I've often got jobs from an event I've done. It's a good way to meet people. Singing is a rewarding job and the satisfaction is I get from good feedback is so uplifting. I love sharing my music and gift with people from all walks of life.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have had a few bookings from Add to Event. The one that stands out is a garden party I did. It was in a village. They get together each year to do a fundraiser. 6 hosts are chosen and a theme is set. There were 5 houses and a pub and the theme was countries. The idea is the people from the village go round the chosen hosts have a glass of wine and nibbles from said country the host has chosen. My host chose Italy. She hired me to sing classical Italian songs for the evening.
