What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, we need the event date, the estimated number of guests, venue location and type of food required from our various menu options. We can then use this information to put together a proposal. Do you have any other vendors already booked for the event and if so what are they providing so that we don't duplicate our offering.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask about the menu and ingredients used - for example - is it locally sourced?
What experience and qualifications do their staff have? Are they insured and what level of liability insurance do they have in place? What is their food hygiene rating? Are there reviews you can check/
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Our founder wanted to be his own boss! Having run restaurant, hotel and casino kitchens for years he decided to take the plunge into launching his own outside catering business to include the demanding world of short-order cooking for festivals and events from a converted horsebox! Enlisting the help of his accountant wife as financial director and brother in law as creative director, he knew it would be a family business legacy for his Daughters, Niece and Nephews.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We were booked to provide our services to Sky One's filming of Brassic, Season 2. Our converted horse trailer features in several scenes as a food vendor at a festival. We can't say too much until the episodes have aired! We were fortunate to meet lots of the cast and crew on set and they were really impressed by our trailer.
