What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For a personalised quote, we would ideally need to know the event date and time, location of the event, and the number of guests attending. It's also helpful for us to know the type of event and any theme or colour scheme, or any specific decoration requests. With this information, we can tailor the quote to fit the requirements. For example, balloon decorations and bright decor would be appropriate for a birthday party, but not for a funeral.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
First of all, make sure your supplier understands what your vision for your special event is. If you have a specific idea in mind, make sure your supplier can deliver that. Ask to see pictures of previous events along the same lines, and make sure they are the supplier's own work and not from Google or Pinterest.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Bows and Joy is run by two school friends who have always been creative, fun and quirky. One half of Bows and Joy got married in August 2017 and it was a DIY wedding due to her being unable to find a stylist who could do exactly what she envisioned. We enjoyed the organisation of this and were asked by friends to do the same - and so Bows and Joy was born!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We have daily requests for bookings through Add to Event, with the majority of requests falling within our remit - which is a lot, lot more than other platforms we advertise on. The messaging system is really good as it allows us to easily scroll through the conversations we've already had, to make sure we have all the information covered and have answered the customer's questions fully.
