What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For me to provide you with a comprehensive quote I would need to know how many guests are attending? this is important as the cost will be calculated on this information. Where the venue is? so I can take the time of travel and the cost into the equation. Time required? Lastly what services you require? With these four answers, I can proceed to finalize a quote.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly, I would make sure you know fully of what they are offering for the price they quote. does the price include labour and setup fee? Are they insured for the services provided? How can they make your event special? Lastly, if you have a busy event can they keep up to speed or are you left with a big queue?
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I have always served in the food industry and generally have a passion for good food. I come from a large family and I was the one who helped my mother when it came to meal times. This has served me well as I can pretty much turn my hand to most cooking, I particularly enjoy sweet treats so over the years have made wedding cakes, cupcake bouquets, owned a traditional sweet shop, run a candy floss business which we took to the Dragons Den as we mastered some pretty good flavours.
Lastly the waffle and ice cream van, I get to work at exciting events and work with lovely people which makes it the best job in the world.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Add to Event has been a complete surprise to me! I stumbled across it and have never looked back. It's quick and easy to use, I can keep tabs of my bookings and if I have a slow week there is always something to be had on Add to Event.
