What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a detailed quote we need to know date of your event, how roughly many people you are catering for, where your venue is? We also need to know any themes colour schemes and design elements and ideas you have for your cake or dessert table. A budget would also be amazing as this determines if we can create something for you.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask about ingredients they use, are they fresh high quality. Ask if everything is baked fresh or do they freeze anything and defrost to use. If using fresh flowers do they know dangers of pesticides and which flowers are edible, or which are toxic and shouldn’t be used in food items.
Ask if they copy other designs exactly or do they create own versions of designs or just use as inspiration.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I have always had a love for baking and baked from a little girl with my nana. My mum asked me to make a cake for my dads birthday and so it began. A year later I had my own business, going full time in 2014 now 12 years on and award winning. I always loved being creative and had a passion for art. Now my art is just in an edible form.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I’ve only had a couple of bookings so far but they have gone well. I have recommended the platform to a few people in the wedding industry. It’s a great little platform!
