Little Wild Catering was born out of a desire for making more ethical food available to everyone. In this day and age of difficult food choices, many of us want to know where our food comes from and how it has been produced. Their aim is to provide exceptional food using the best and most sustainable ingredients and are equally at home providing delicious canapés, fine dining, vegan feasts, casual buffets or hog roasts.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To get the most realistic quote out to you, we need the event date, and explanation of the type of event, estimated guests, venue and what the kitchen equipment already there consists of. The more details you give us, the more precise your quote can be.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Have some flexibility in what you are looking for - perhaps your idea of what you need isn't exactly what is provided by a caterer- but maybe there is a really brilliant company that is local to you and can do something similar!
Think practically- what time of year is it going to be, what might the weather be, would guests want to eat that at that time of day etc?
Get a good grasp of prices from varied providers- most people under budget, as they do not know what the industry standards are. Having an idea of this can be helpful before you are inundated with ideas and quotes!
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Little Wild Catering, the clue is in the name! Dave Fung is a forager and baker. His love for cooking meals that have been created using ingredients from the local countryside goes beyond events and weddings..he also runs foraging walks and bread workshops in and around Bristol. The company is a small company with an energetic team of staff, most of which have a background in hospitality. We hope that this combination, along with some collaborative and fine-tuned menu ideas between us and our client can help to create a warm, inspiring event with delicious, carefully sourced food and wonderful service.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
One of our first events was a 60th Birthday party. Here are Kerry's words about the event...
' Have to say I was very impressed, it took Dave around to 30mins to set up and get cooking. The smells coming from his area were amazing!! It was lovely to see all the salads being freshly prepared whilst the food was cooking. All served on bamboo plates with not a plastic fork in sight Incredibly tasty and plenty left over for those inevitable party munchies later in the evening… just as tasty cold! Thank You Dave … it was awesome!'
(We think she liked it!) Using Add to Event helps to match us with the right events. Our middle-man!
