What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
In order to tailor our services to meet the exact requirements of our customers and to provide them with the most accurate quote and product suggestions, we require some details from our clients. The more they can tell us about their event, the better we are able to help. The date, venue, time, occasion and duration of the event are always a good starting point. In addition, it is helpful to know whether the event is indoors or outdoors and the anticipated number of guests that may be attending. If flowers are involved it is really helpful to know if the customer would like fresh or silk flowers as costings and handling of the flowers can vary greatly. If the organisers have particular colour schemes or themes in mind this is useful to know as it helps us to begin to visualise potential designs and products that would add to the overall desired look or theme.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would say choose someone who is passionate about what they do! I believe that passion always transmits into the work carried out or service provided. Look for the clues in how providers respond to your request. Do they sound interested and enthusiastic? Are they offering options and details? Do they sound professional and knowledgeable? Do they make themselves easy to contact for any questions or follow up? I would also recommend speaking either in person or over the phone to the people who have provided you with a quote, particularly for important memorable occasions as the way in which you work together can have a big impact on the overall experience of your special day.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
My degree is in Entertainment Design Crafts which involves designing and making sets, props and costumes for the events industry so the aesthetic and visual side of social events is a perfect fit! Being a mum of 3 now grown-up children, I have had the pleasure of planning many children's parties and did this professionally for several years. Following my own wedding in 2017, I discovered the absolute delight of planning themes and colour schemes for everything from invitations, favours, table plans, transport, centrepieces and everything in between. I enrolled on an advanced course for wedding planners and venue stylists which I completed in 2019. Friends and relatives began to ask me to help with their events and before I knew it, With Love Entwined was born!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I was contacted by another event planner in the area who was asking for a service that she doesn't offer and she was interested in us working together to help promote each other in our relevant areas of expertise. So far we have worked on one event together and it was a huge success but we have so many more ideas in the pipeline. I love that we are able to promote and support each other rather than being in competition with each other and this wouldn't have happened if it hadn't been for Add to Event. In fact, it was a DJ who recommended Add to Event to me and I in turn am happy to recommend it to other event suppliers and contacts throughout the industry across the UK.
