The Fab Patisserie create amazing afternoon teas that are as beautiful as they are delicious. Their afternoon tea includes a wide selection of sandwiches, so everyone will be catered for ( also offer a vegetarian menu); scones, served with clotted cream and jam; and a selection of gourmet desserts.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
In order to provide a comprehensive quote we need an event date, and an estimate of the number of guests. Please also state whether or not afternoon tea china will be required. Based on your event address, there might also be an added delivery charge, but this will be made clear in the quote.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly I would ask what the menu would be - you need to ensure that all your guests are catered for. I'd then request details of any replacements needed based on my guest's dietary requirements. I would then ask about portion sizes. Great food is brilliant, but you also need to ensure that you have enough food to cater for your guests. Lastly I would ask what extras come as standard with the afternoon tea ( in our case, it is disposable plates, cutlery, and napkins)
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
We always had a passion for great desserts and afternoon tea, and wanted to share our love of great food with as many people as possible. We quickly realised that there was a gap between the quality of afternoon tea served in high-end restaurants and hotels, and that served by traditional afternoon tea delivery services. We worked to quickly fill that gap, and aim to provide a high-end product to customers in their homes or another venue of their choosing.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
If we had to pick one event, it would be our first booking through Add to Event. It was the reopening of a church hall in Pudsey, West Yorkshire. We supplied an afternoon tea buffet with full china service. The customers loved the food, and our beautiful crockery. They gave us rave reviews on the day, emailed us to say how fabulous it was, and left a lovely review on our profile. We couldn't have hoped for a better start.
