What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

Like any company we would firstly ask for date and location once we had confirmed that then we would ask for rough numbers of guests and types of music required, we would also ask for any specific timings of speeches and toasts if any, we also ask about the size of the venue and whether it was inside or outside, then if the client wanted to we could arrange a time and date to meet for a coffee to go over the finer details if needed and to answer in questions in person and discuss payment options

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

To be honest, there are 3 very important bits of information that a potential client should ask any Mobile DJ and they are 1, Do you have current Public Liability Insurance and can I see it. 2, Do you have Portable Appliance Test ( P.A.T. ) certificates and can I see them and number 3 which is probably one of if not the most important questions you can ask especially if they will be working with young or vulnerable children 3, Do you have a current CRB/DBS certificate and can I see it, without these 3 certificates you could be taking quite a risk and I would always advise you ask for them.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

DKY Events was born from my passion for music, I have had a deep passion for music and playing it as far back as the late '90s. My first taste of mixing music was at a friends house in his shed on Technics turntables with a Numark mixer and soon caught the bug, after years of mixing in my friends shed and going out most weekends to various clubs and events around the country I met my future wife and settled down and we had a family, once the children had grown and moved on I then sat down with my wife/partner and we decided to start a business providing people with a Professional Mobile DJ service at very competitive prices since then it's been non-stop and I'm happy to say things are going great.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I am quite a new user of Add to Event and can honestly say it is most definitely value for money, I use another service as well as this one and to be honest, the prices are extortionate compared to this site, although I have put a lot of quotes into possible clients I have had a moderate amount of response. I have now however secured my first booking through Add to Event and it is for a wedding in 2020 I can 100% see myself continuing to use this service and I know I will get a lot more bookings as time goes by.
