What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a more accurate quote for the customer, we would ideally need to know the event date, event time, number of guests and type of service required (unlimited items or 1 per person).
If possible the event venue, access and position size would also be very helpful.
After these details have been supplied we can discuss with the customer the different options that we feel would make sure we can provide the best possible service for their event.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If I was a customer looking for any type of service the first thing I would ask them would be about the product they are offering and how they got started in that area. It's always great when someone has a real affinity with the product they are offering and I think someone who is passionate about it will always be a great choice!
I would then ask how long they have been in business and what experience they might have, such as a list of former events which would help determine if they could cope with the size and numbers of your event.
The next question would be about their menu and what different options they can offer you. It's always a nice touch if a supplier is willing to adapt their menu for you and your event.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Select Coffee has been grown organically from my own parents catering business. My family have been involved with the food side of mobile catering my whole life and having worked in the family business from a young age I was always looking for a way to put my own stamp upon the business. My love for Coffee and working as a barista gave me the idea for creating Select Coffee to provide events with great quality coffee, made with real passion but also creating coffee bars in such a way to be able to provide a great service quickly to customers.
Usually, when there's great coffee there are delicious desserts too and so to accompany our coffee bars I've always wanted a cool dessert truck that would really add value and be a great feature for clients events and finally after some searching, I found an old vintage Citroen hy van that fitted the bill perfectly! Now after a lot of love and restoration work our Crafty Crepe Van is ready to add something eye-catching and sweet to the services we can provide.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We have only recently joined Add to Event but have already been accepted and attended quite a few events! This is hardly surprising due to a large number of supplier requests received each day. Our most recent request was for a fun day at the wellness and yoga centre in Sheffield. This event only became available 2 days before as they had a supplier unable to make it but the quick and easy way to apply and then discuss the event with the client meant we both had the information needed and we were booked in the same day the request was made!
The client was very happy with the service we provided which helped make their day a success as there were a lot of people wanting coffee as it was such a cold day and they said it helped them focus on other aspects of the event as they were able to book us in so quickly. They said they would be looking to Add to Event to provide more of the services for their event when they start planning for next year.
