Crepe Britain specialises in made to order sweet and savoury crepes from either a vintage-style horsebox or a gazebo style set up, both of which are fully self-sufficient. Read on for more information plus their advice for choosing a similar provider.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

We need to know whether you’d like sweet or both sweet and savoury crêpes, the number of people you would like to cater for, venue location and timings. You have the choice of our vintage style horsebox or our gazebo set up - the venue and access may well dictate your choice. We can then give you a comprehensive quote for your event.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Do feel free to ask any provider for reviews as anyone who has been in the industry for some time and is good, will be happy to supply these. Also be aware that for crêpes, there is no such thing as unlimited service unless they have premade them - in our opinion, this just isn’t the same! The joy of crêpes is watching them being made to order.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I have been running my other business, Traditional Ice Cream (tricycles) since 2011 and, as my son got older, I decided that I would also like to work more in the winter, hence the idea of crêpes was born around 5 years ago. It turns out that crêpes are just as popular as ice cream in the summer and so I often find myself at multiple events in one day! I love the reaction people have to seeing us make the crêpes, they are often mesmerised!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have done many events booked through Add to Event over the years and were one of their earliest suppliers I think my favourite was an après ski-themed party where the client had an amazing marquee set up, complete with fake snow, champagne glider with fireworks, live band, trees covered in snow and much more! Originally, we were going to work from the horsebox however the week of the event the weather was looking rotten. We were then able to change our set up to bring it indoors meaning the guests didn’t get soggy whilst waiting for a Crêpe.
