What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For a comprehensive quote we need a outline of. 1) the type of event that they are hosting. 2) the estimated number of guests. 3) the amount of crepes they would like to be served. 4) the venue location and type (house/hall/garden/open space?). 5) indoor/outdoor event?. 6) any specific requests for toppings on the crepes, including dietary concerns such as vegan or Gluten free option inclusion. We use this information to draw up our quote to ensure we cater to for the clients exact wishes.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It is imperative for a customer to know exactly what the provider is supplying and how they intended to achieve their contract. Also we think it is nice to know why the supplier is in their line of business. for example we run our crepe stall as we truly have a love for crepes, especially the very satisfying process of swirling the batter around the hot griddle which everyone loves to watch! During our time in Provence we learned how to master the art of making the delicious French crepe, and that's the sort of enthusiastic story one should expect to receive from their providers. Lastly, it is also important to understand how the provider operates; hopefully, they are like us and use a custom wooden stand and top-of-the-line Krampouz crepe griddles.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Eden Crepes flourished when we realised that crepes bring a smile to everyone's face. The smell of crepes being cooked, the fun of flipping, the delicious toppings and the crispy pancake make an experience that everyone can enjoy, which is perfect for any occasion. I spent time in Provenance in 2018, and fell in love with everything crepe! I run the crepe stand with my friend Sam, and we started 'Crepeing' together as a fundraiser for charity way back at our secondary school, from which our love for crepes has blossomed.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Eden Crepes has enjoyed many previous bookings, with our stand-out event at the prestigious black tie Hatfield College ball of Durham University which is successful. We cater for a group of 700 students, contracted to provide a combined total of 500 vegan gluten-free and signature Eden flavoured batter crepes. The whole experience has been a pleasure, especially working with the college staff. They approached us personally based upon our excellent reputation gained in Durham from street vending, and who have recommended us to other Durham University colleges to cater for their balls as well.
