What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For Party People to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, we require the event date, brief details about the type of event being planned and the estimated number of guests. We would also require details on the potential venue such as whether it's an indoor or outdoor event.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure the presenter or DJ you use has experience in the type of event you are planning. The DJ should contact you to find out what genre/s of music you require and the age range of the guests. Check that the company or DJ you hire has a Public Performance Licence to play music at your event. They should also have a PAT Test certificate for their electrical equipment and Public Liability Insurance Certificate.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I started Party People Video DJs because I believe that video is at the cutting edge of the entertainment industry and playing music has long been my passion. I have been DJ'ing for over 20 years, playing in various pubs and clubs in Glasgow and Paisley. My passion for music and production setups drove me to start playing music videos 10 years ago. My vision was to create a mobile Video DJ business that had the customer's needs at its core. Party People Video DJs was born.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Add to Event is really easy to use. I have quoted for around 50 jobs that were within my designated area and we have had several bookings that have gone very well. One fantastic event was a 50th birthday party for which I produced a video slideshow using the client's photographs and projected these onto the big screens together with amazing video graphics. The client and her guests were very happy and are hiring us again for their next big party. I will continue to recommend Add to Event to my DJ colleagues in the mobile DJ industry and to others involved in the entertainment sector.
